[[Movie Review]]

I'm thinking of doing this small bit about movie reviews on the blog, and recommending them to you, the reader on whether their worth watching..

I'll start with the latest one that I've watched. ( in fact i just fi
nished watching it a few minutes ago )

Frost/ Nixon: A very intriguing storyline, basically it's about one of the true life events involving David Frost ( michael sheen ) and President Richard Nixon ( Frank Langella ). Their lives take a very interesting turn when Frost approaches Nixon for an interview ( agenda was on the Watergate cover up ). The whole show pretty much revolves around the story of how Frost interviews Nixon, and the extreme intellectual battle that wages over their 4 day interview period. Along the way, you'd start to feel a deep understanding for the characters, and even though there is so much tension in the air, there's always that little hint of chemistry between the two that keeps you guessing what's going to happen next. Yes, it IS quite intense ( alhough there are no action scenes whatsoever ) that you can physically feel the pressure build in both sides.
I would personally recommend this film to anyone who'd like to sit through 2 hours of intense mind games and tests of intelligence.

This one was actually recommended to me by JQ.
Lord of War: This film had a very straightforward concept right from the beginning. It had alot to do with illegal gun trafficking, war-torn Africa, The Cold War and a ton of decption. Nicholas Cage plays an illegal arms dealer, who started selling weapons just before the height of the cold war. He also narrates as you go along. The arms trade was, of course, booming, and he being an oppotunistic person, hops on for the ride. It leads him to do deals with some of the most powerful people in the world, earning him a fortune. Whilst all is not fun and games, his nemesis, a law-abiding FBI agent, Jack Valentine ( Ethan Hawke ) is always hot on his tail, ready to pounce on any chance he got. Yuri Orlov ( Nocholas Cage )'s brother, Vitaly ( Jared Leto ) is his "accomplice", tagging along on his business trips until he gets thrown into a rehab centre. The ending's quite a thrill ride, with a twist at the end. This one really leaves you hanging on to your seats, but it's a really really well thought out movie. It's rated M18 here so it contains a ton of stuff like vulgarities and semi-nude scenes. So kids be warned.
I'd recommend you guys to go check it out cos it's one that you don't want to miss.
