[[MST]]

MSTs start tomorrow for me, and I guess I'm quite confident. It's only Econs, how hard can it be? But the last minute revision better help, even though I did study last week.

Maybe I'll go early tomorrow to read up just one last time.

Good luck to those taking the Econs paper tomorrow, and the other stuff too.

[[Movie Review!]]

Transformers: Revenge of The Fallen - Very, very epic way to start the blockbuster season I'd say. And kudos to the CG team and special effects crew for this film. The story this time sees the revenge of 'the fallen', quite literally, as Sam Witwicky( Shia Lebeouf ) teams up again with Autobot leader Optimus Prime to take down the Megatron and his band of Decepticons. This Movie also sheds some light into Optimus's past, the history of the primes and how they came to Earth, how 'the fallen' came about and basically why the Transformers came to Earth in the first place. Much more robot on robot fight action, with a hell lot of detail put into the fight sequences, especially in the forest battle and the desert battle. More Autobots and Decpticons join in on the fight, but some scenes will leave you wondering why there are sometimes 2 of each Decepticon present. Plus, the repeat of certain bits also seem abit pointless.

But overall I would say that although it is just under 2 hours long, it somewhat makes the movie worthwhile to watch, not only to help you understand the characters better, but also because you guys demand so much violence from robots.

My Rating: 9/10

[[The Passing of a Legend]]

It is sad to lose such a great influence on pop culture so suddenly, and I am sure that it has hurt many out there who are fans of the great Michael Jackson. All I can say that we were very lucky to have him in our presence all these years, and his legacy will live on for many, many years to come.

Responsible for such great hits as "Beat It", "Billie Jean", "Don't stop 'Till you Get Enough" and many others, the King of Pop has surely made himself a solid fanbase over the years. And as fans I say that we remember him as the great musician and artist that he is, and not for the controversy that has happened to him.

So may you Rest in Peace, and may your music continue to echo throughout the world.

Thank you, Michael Jackson.

[[Are schools closing for another week?]]

Yes, with the latest news of today's poll on whether to shut down the schools or not, I have a gut feeling that they won't be. Even if they have given us students the liberty to "vote", I can safely say that the government, like many times before, is doing this to extinguish the flames of anger of many students on the subject.

My personal stand point would be that they should not impose the closure, unless the need really, REALLY arises. And even though many of you reading this would be cursing or shouting vulgarities into your com ( like that's gonna work, moron ), don't get your panties in a tizzie. There's a perfectly rational reason why they shouldn't impose closures.

We have holidays, for POLY people, 3 weeks, the others, 4 weeks. We've all been happy the way it is, doing our homework, going out with friends and generally enjoying our holidays. So even if there was 1 more week extra, I can safely say that a large bunch of you will probably waste it away unproductively. Movies, Eating out, Stayovers, Sports, etc. Knowing most people whose exams are already over, they won't study for nuts. So that one week wouldn't even have made a friggin difference.

And all those who complain on the thread, I welcome feedback on the tagbox, feel free to vent your frustration. Cos we all know that in the end, one simple word sums up the mentality of those who want longer holidays. Laziness.

We all have the same number of days in our holidays, we all can have fun and juggle studies at the same time, we all could get by on the time we had. So even if they gave us 2 weeks or 3 weeks, the results would more or less be very similar. And to the people who vote 'Yes', I really, really hope that you'd thought your decision through before making it.

Up yours.

[[Top Gear!]]

After 6 months, Top Gear season 13 is finally out. Back with the shenanigans and nonsense only Clarkson, Hammond and May can produce.

And I know many of you are dying to watch it, but can't find a link. So I've taken the liberty to find one.

Top Gear Season 13 Episode 1

Somehow it's not the full one hour show, but it has the funniest bits.

Hell yeah!

[[Painting My Gun]]

Painting my nerf gun,
I guess its quite fun,
but under the intensely hot sun,
You could say that's pretty damn dumb.

But it's not like I'm not studying,
just that the subjects are boggling,
and with the exams impending,
we all hope for our own happy endings.

So enough with this chatter,
or large gayness platter,
for MST draws nearer,
and Dong's getting Kinkier.

[[Movie Reviews.]]

The Taking of Pelham 123: A modern day remake of the 60's classic, I think. The storyline is pretty complex, as Ryder ( John Travolta ), hijacks a train and uses it for ransom, however, he's not in it for the money from the heist, but rather from the stock market as he used to be a former wall street guy. But in his heist, the man on the other end of the mic, Walter Garber ( Denzel Washington ) would some how become the 'very last friend he makes', as Walter tries to negotiate with him throughout the show. Full of action, suspense and thrills, this show very much reflects how the recession might push someone over the edge to commit such acts. Although the possibilities of this happening are slim, you could say that the film does provide lots of emotions and that the charcters are very 3D.

Terminator Salvation: Yes, it is another sequel to the famous Terminator Trilogy. But this time John Connor ( Christian Bale ) is a very self centered, pompous a-hole. Ok ,I'll take you through the plot. The year is 2018, and the machines have taken over the world since its after judgement day. John Connor has to find his Kyle Reese, his dad, to recruit the rebellion, but since he came back from the future, Kyle is only a teenager and he hasn't even been born yet. Anyway, Skynet has taken over LA, and they want to destroy it, because they were starting to create T-800s, or the Arnold schwarzenegger robots. With this, and the help of Marcus Right ( Sam Worthington ), the first prototype of skynet, they infiltrate Skynet and basically blow it up. If you think of it, this movie fits in maybe between Terminator 1 and 2. And the story line gets more and more complicated when you try to link them all up. So don't even bother trying. Trust me, I got a headache trying to..

Ciao

[[Crash Test Dummies]]

The holidays are here, and aside from studying, nothing interesting has happened. Really, the most exciting thing would either be shovelling manure or playing com. And I vote for the latter. So this would pretty much be an advertising for my favourite game, Rfactor.

For all you aspiring racers that are all too young to drive, here's a really good alternative, its as real as it gets, without stepping into a real car, and getting busted by the police.

The graphics would be damn good if I had a better com. But I don't, so maybe better quality pics would come from Gnin's blog. If he ever gets round to posting it.

Anyway, here are some shots..

And not only F1 cars, they have Gallardos too..

Awesome crashes all round, So if anyone wants this game, go torrent it urself and play till your balls fall off.

Peace Out.

[[Day at the museum]]

Yup. Everyone needs to learn about their own country's history sometime, and I guess I learned all about Singapore at the National Museum on Friday. I spent a good part of the day walking around exhibits, observing Portraits and peering into the depths of Singapore's short and somewhat dramatic history.

Of course, Singapore's history isn't as interesting or as tragic as countries like China or America, but nonetheless, it still has its fair share of violence, deceit and all that good stuff action film directors look for. Anyway, to avoid sounding more and more patriotic, I will say that for the record, Singapore has really taken a truckload of shit over the past 100 years or so.

And yeah, we're all just contributing to that I would say..

Some pics from the museum...Outside the museum..fantastic weather

The bitter irony, Tanks of Love

The renovated interior of the museum

Old school Camera.

Old school Video Cam recorder

Gramophone..yes, the name leaves alot of room for jokes.

Some old Wayang costume.

Wayang scenery, with my cousins and mum..

The architecture of the museum is really cool.

Colonial against modern Singapore

Now I'm not saying that everyone should visit the museum, but if you have the urge to learn some history ( and I know most of you won't want to ) just drop by and put some info in that big empty space up top. You might never need it, but what the hell?

[[The holidays.]]

Yes the holidays are here, and I'm very inclined to say that I'm not going to enjoy them very much. It's not because of the large mound of projects or the MST week on the horizon, but more on the fact that I'll have to waste my time at home doing possibly useless stuff. And while I'm in this semi-tired, semi-emo mood, I guess I have some time to reflect on myself and the things I did in the past. Things that I'm not proud of and things that I am proud of.

I guess the holidays are somewhat the best times to be spent with your friends, but out of all the plans that we make, or all the outings we organise, it's sad to see much of it go to waste, due to whatever circumstances. Anyway, the one thing that I hope this "break" will be filled with should be nothing less than exciting, stuff that friends can, and will, remember for a long long time.

Au' revoir.

[[JCC!!]]

Yes I know I'm a day late in my post. But who really cares??

Anyway..JCC ( japanese culture club ) FO ( freshman orientation ) camp was really fun. I can say that it's way more interesting than any stupid NPCC camp that I've been too.

I guess that for pretty obvious reasons, the Japanese culture club is more interesting. I mean, aside from the talent-time and amazing race, it was pretty fun. Other stuff that happened were team-bonding games, chadou, origami, the anime movie ( byosokyu 5cm ) and the massive amount of shenanigans. Like kangaroo-ing around the school of business and scaring other groups during the nightwalk. Yet through all this, we all still remained "high" till the end of the camp, although it was obvious everyone was more or less wasted. That's a very very brief conclusion of the camp. And what's more fun was that most of my friends came along. And hare hare yukai. Here's hoping for a better one next year!

Some pics....View from T22 level 6

The row of urinals. Really wanted to take one home..

Keith and Darren buying stuff. It's 2am at dover MRT.

The bridge to SP from the MRT.

The MRTs closed. like I said, 2am.

Sunrise the next morning, on top T21. We were all wasted, especially Darren, totaly slogging

Colloquial Malay. All the material we ever need.

[[21.5]]

Yup, 21.5 out of 25. I shan't brag about it any more, for it might get me blocked. haha. Anyway that's the mark I got for my FOM presentation, for those who aren't updated yet..

Tomorrow's the JCC camp. So I'll make this post short, cos I still have more junk to pack. No new posts for the next 3 days, but I'll tell you guys all about it when I get back. So yeah, 1 less website to screen-suck for 3 days, saves time and electricity. good for you..

Ciao, off to JCC tomorrow!!
